The UK Premiere of Milestone – Streets Paved with Gold at Phoenix Cinema, Leicester on Sunday, 19th October 2025 was nothing short of extraordinary. With every seat filled, the event became a historic and emotional celebration of culture, community, and storytelling. From the moment guests arrived on the red carpet to the final moments of the after-party, the evening radiated pride, unity, and gratitude.
A Red-Carpet Welcome to Remember
The event began with a vibrant audience arrival session. Guests were welcomed onto the red carpet, where photographers captured the excitement and elegance of the evening. The atmosphere was warm and full of anticipation, as attendees mingled, connected, and prepared for a premiere that would leave a lasting mark.
Inside Screen 1, live saxophone music by Robert Charles set a beautiful tone, creating a calm yet celebratory mood before the main programme began.
Powerful Opening & Heartfelt Tributes
Host Tricia O’Neal opened the event with warm remarks, followed by an introduction of co-host, Executive Producer, and lead actor Victor Richards, whose creative vision sits at the heart of Milestone.
A deeply moving tribute honoured the late filmmaker Menelik Shabazz and his partner Nefertiti Ife, whose encouragement and inspiration played a significant role in the journey of this project. Their legacy was felt strongly throughout the evening.
